Christian is a seasoned executive, with a 10-year general management experience throughout Latin America. He led multi-latin companies and country operations of multinational companies, where he turned around businesses that were not delivering at full potential while paving the path for future growth.
The last 7 of these 10 years were in the flexible packaging industry, where Christian dealt first-hand with the game-changing megatrend of figuring out how are plastic companies going to become environmentally sustainable while remaining profitable. He actively participated in different initiatives like the Chilean Plastics Pact, where he understood that, as there is no clear answer to this fundamental question, there is a nascent and developing plastics circular economy ecosystem, where new value streams are being created and captured.
Christian is currently working on developing the circular economy ecosystem in the region: he supports Circulate Capital in establishing a fund in Latin America and the Caribbean to invest in companies that promote the circular economy in the plastics industry; he collaborates with other impact firms supporting them in accelerating SMEs and start-ups on strategic guidance, operational execution and investment readiness; and he is working on developing projects that help solve key needs that the circular economy ecosystem faces.
Prior to his experience in general management, Christian worked in strategy consulting at The Boston Consulting Group in their Miami and Santiago, Chile offices, and at ExxonMobil in their Colombian operation. Christian holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley, where he was granted a full scholarship, and is an Industrial Engineer from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.
